The General Election in Windsor will be a straight fight between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. That Labour have given up all hope of winning was confirmed after they selected as their candidate a Glaswegian Doctor and businessman, currently living in London. It is now clear that the Labour candidate is simply showing the flag. The Labour selection confirms the Lib Dems' Julian Tisi as the main challenger to the Conservatives and only main party candidate who lives and works in our area as part of our community.

Windsor's Conservative Councillors can afford to pay themselves 91% higher allowances, but can't afford to run the local services that residents rely on. According to reports in the local press up to 100 jobs could go as the Conservatives struggle to with a budget, already supported by massive extra borrowing of £6million.

The policy is therefore a straight-forward redistribution from poor to rich.

"I hate to say it, but only one party leader seems to have grasped that, if you construct a system where unskilled people are worse off by taking a job than by staying on welfare, they remain trapped in poverty - and that is Nick Clegg. "
Lord Norman Tebbit
Daily Telegraph online - 13 Jan
"It's unbelievable that the Tories are still planning to cut taxes for a handful of millionaires when the majority of people across the country are feeling the squeeze. We need fair tax cuts that put money back in the pockets of ordinary people. The Tory sums simply do not stack up. It is irresponsible and highly misleading for George Osborne to continue to pretend that they do. "
Vince Cable MP
