Citizens of The Republic of Ireland who are living in the United Kingdom can vote in all elections.

The Republic of Ireland was formerly part of the United Kingdom. Under the provisions of the Ireland Act 1949, citizens of the Republic of Ireland are not to be treated as aliens. Consequently Citizens of the Republic of Ireland living in the United Kingdom are entitled to vote in all elections by virtue of their Irish Citizenship.

Voters from Commonwealth Countries within the European Union

Citizens of Malta GC and Cyprus who are living in the United Kingdom can vote in all elections.

Malta GC and Cyprus are Commonwealth Countries which are also members of the European Union.

Citizens of these countries who are living in the United Kingdom are eligible to vote in all UK elections, by virtue of their Commonwealth Citizenship.

Their EU Citizenship gives them the right of residency in the United Kingdom, consequently they automatically fulfil residency qualifying status which applies to Commonwealth Citizens.
