End the NHS Corridor Crisis
12 Hour Waits have Worsened Under Labour
Liberal Democrat analysis of the latest NHS England data shows 2025 is projected to see the worst level of 12 hour trolley-waits in A&E ever recorded. Locally, a shocking 25,280 patients waited 12 hours in our local hospitals, which includes Wexham Park and Frimley Park, in 2025.
Every week more than 30,000 people suffer degrading waits of over 12 hours in A&E in England. 1 in 5 patients were treated in trolleys or chairs in corridors.
Patients and hard-working NHS staff have been let down by both the Conservatives and Labour.
Liberal Democrats are demanding a new law to end 12 hour waits and hospital ‘corridor care’ within a year.
We'd give the Health Secretary a legal duty to ensure patients are admitted within 12 hours. And we'd invest in the NHS and social care to make 6,000 extra hospital beds available and end corridor care.
End The NHS Corridor Crisis
I back the Lib Dem plan to end the A&E crisis with a new law to end 12 hour waits and make 6,000 extra hospital beds available to end corridor care.
