Legal Action Reveals Conservative Incompetence

20 Mar 2011

The local Careers and advisory Service has launched legal action against the Conservative Council after the council unilaterally decide to cut the service.

Conservative councillors decided to make the cut in the vital service which provides advice and counselling to young people seeking employment to save money, however they failed to look into the issue properly before proceeding.

The Connexions service is not part of the council, but a seperate organisation with which the council has a contract.

It is alleged the Royal Borough owes the service almost £300,000. A High Court writ was issued this week claiming the borough has breached an agreement with Connexions Berkshire for services costing £450,519.24. It seems the Conservatives have no ability to attend to vital details like checking contracts.
