Police Burglary Response Times Increase
Thames Valley Police refuse to provide Windsor data but research by the Liberal Democrats reveals shocking response times nationally.
At their Autumn Conference this weekend, the Liberal Democrats nationally backed a plan to restore a public-facing police desk in every town. Windsor Liberal Democrats warmly welcome this announcement.
Our town has been without a police front desk since 2016, when the counter at Windsor Police Station was closed. Since then, anyone wanting face-to-face support has had to travel to Maidenhead or Slough. We know this has left many residents feeling Windsor was left out and visitors unsure of where to seek help.
The new Lib Dem policy would change that by ensuring every town once again has a local police desk where people can report a crime, seek advice, or simply speak to an officer in person. These will be located in places that people actually visit such as libraries, supermarkets and shopping centres. The plan will be funded by scrapping the costly role of Police and Crime Commissioner; saving money while putting resources where people actually need them.
Windsor Liberal Democrats believe this is an important step towards rebuilding trust, improving visibility, and making sure our community feels safe and supported.
