Royal Borough Clewer North Ward held by Independents

West Windsor Residents' Association hold Clewer North Ward in the by-election held on Thursday 24th July.

The by-election was triggered by by the sad death of the Residents' Association's Cllr Cynthia Endacott who had serve on the council for many years and was a notable figure locally.

During the election controversy was caused by the council's decision to deliver its own newspaper, "Around the Royal Borough" during the election time "purdah" period.

"Around the Royal Borough" which is meant to provide information about the council, has over recent years been abused by the Conservatives to become little better than tax payer funded party propaganda and many of its themes matched those in the Conservative Election materials.

Council newspapers should not be distributed during election times, however strangely in this case, the paper appears to have been distributed early in the Clewer North Ward.
