Royal Borough Tories Record of Shame Continues - Councillor Suspended for Racist Comments

A Conservative Councillor in the Royal Borough has been forced to resign after making racist comments about the travelling community.

The Conservatives were forced to suspend, Councillor Alan Mellins, Conservative Councillor for Cox Green in Maidenhead, after it emerged that he had suggested executing travellers as a means of speeding up the eviction process for a traveller site at Shurlock Row, where travellers have been settled since 2009.

A petition set up on i-petitions calling for councillor Mellins to resign had already garnered 339 sinatures as of Saturday 25th October.

Back in August another Conservative Councillor refused to resign from the council after being found guilty of committing housing benefit fraud against the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
