Home from home for elderly

RBWM leader Mary-Rose Gliksten cut the ribbon yesterday (Thursday 1st March) when she opened a new day centre for older people. The Windsor Day Centre in Imperial Road is purpose-built to replace the old Dedworth Road premises at Warden's Lodge and a programme of events aimed at senior citizens in the Royal Borough has already been organised.

Street Lights Get Green Light

Street lighting in the Royal Borough is set to become cheaper and more environmentally friendly. At a cabinet meeting on Thursday last week, councillors agreed to join with four other Berkshire local authorities to buy energy for street lighting, and bring in more modern lamps to reduce the borough's carbon footprint and cut light pollution.

Antony Wood Delivers Meals on Weels

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Local Resident and Clewer South Councillor, Antony Wood, was in Ascot again last Thursday, helping out at The Chandler Centre. The centre, run by Heather Hogben, provides a social forum and care services for the elderly.
