Conservative Councillors meeting in a 6 minute meeting have given the nod to a scandalous 1000% rise in charges to ordinary people using day centres in the Royal Borough in a move which could see the Windsor Day Centre in Imperial Road closed. The disgraceful attack on vulnerable elderly people was voted through the Adult Social Services Scrutiny panel by 3 Conservative Councillors claiming that Liberal Democrat members of the panel were two minutes late. Liberal Democrats in Windsor are backing the campaign to save Maidenhead's "Bridge That Gap Cafe" at the Royal Borough's Council headquarters from Conservative plans to relocate it out of sight to a social services building. The project in which adults with learning difficulties run the cafe is aimed at helping greater integration into the wider community and is popular with both the adults involved and visitors and staff at the Town Hall.
